We stayed for 3 days before our cruise. The staff was friendly. We had a negative encounter at the pool with another guest who had NO patients for 6 yr old boys, so we spent most of our time at the beach. The bell desk loaned out boogie boards so we all played with those. The casino was fun. Walked out with an extra $* so that was good. That paid for a round of drinks. The bar comes to life at night with a karaoke salsa singer that gets the joint rocking. My husband and I sat and just watched people salsa dance. The bed was a little soft and the hyda-bed for the kids was old and saggy. I did tell the front desk so hopefully they changed the mattresses. We're thinking of another cruise next year and will proberly stay at this hotel . Hopefully the jerk won't be there!!! PS-You must walk outside the hotel. The street comes to life. We ate at Tijuana's just down the street from the hotel. EXCELLANT food! We even watched a "Virgin Procession" to a church complete with a police excort. Lots of activity going on. We felt very safe!

This was the third time we have stayed at the Marriott and this is the ONLY hotel we would ever stay at in PR!!! Each of our stays have been great. The staff is wonderful, the rooms were comfy and the bands who perform at the lobby bar are fantastic!!! If you do not want to eat at the hotel, there are plenty of restaurants to the left and right of the hotel and they are reasonably priced. We felt very safe walking around at night since the Condado area is well patrolled by policemen on foot and on motorcycles. I know people who have stayed in Isla Verde - El San Juan Hotel, the Ritz-Carlton and hated the hotels, services and most of all the dangerous location. This Marriott is the best and we are planning our next trip for Labor Day and New Year's!!!

This hotel has everything you’ll every need if going to PR. Saw some comments about safety, it’s not an issue. My husband and I along with my son felt very safe walking the streets. There is one building that’s a little sketchy (spray painted) but it’s no big deal. The check-in and out process was smooth and fast. The hotel is very worthy of its 4 star status. Rooms are nice and spacious; I particularly like bathrooms with granite countertops. Pool area always had towels available; we never had to wait for towels (those who’ve been on resorts know exactly what I’m talking about). There were an over abundance of beach chairs/umbrellas, other guest were commenting on how great that was. The restaurant in the hotel was pricey but I haven’t been to a resort whose prices aren’t. We are definitely coming back; there is no question about it!!!
