This resort is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. Even the pillows were full and fluffy! The ocean view is absolutely breathtaking, so many different shades of blue. They have a pool for every taste. Palomino Island was awesome as were breakfast at Las Brisas and dinner at La Piccola Fontana. The lushious gardens and lanscaped grounds are picture perfect. The only tumbs down they get is that they made us wait for 4 hours after check-in to get our rooms. We did not arrive early but precisely at check-in time which is 4pm. we got our rooms at 8:00pm. We were also very surprised to find that the bathroom did not come equipped with any kind of an exhaust fan. Bottom line: paradise has nothing on El Conquistador!!

The service was top of the line. There were 5 in our group and we stayed 7 nights. Loved the private beach, Palomino Island. The prcies were a little high but you received your money's worth. We would definitly recommend and we would love to stay again. It was a little noisy, but I think that is common with a lot of places. Compared to a Motel 6 this is like a castle.

I stayed at the El Conquistador resort for nearly two weeks in June, 2010 with my wife and three kids 15, 13 and 1-1/2. The hotel grounds and views are absolutely beautiful. Our room was adequate and the bathroom with dressing area was large enough for our youngest sons crib. The overall hotel staff and especially the front desk staff were very helpful. Every time we asked for towels or anything else they called back. Once we returned home the hotel emailed me an online survey and after I completed it the hotel manager sent me an email and responded to my comments personally. Palomino island is beautiful and great for snorkeling. The boat ride is less than 10 min. My son and I explored the area and found thousands of fish of every color. They charge rental for gear. You can get by without the fins for most of the shallow areas. Also with so much coral on the beach you will want water shoes. I had read a lot of information about high food prices and extra charges so we were prepared for the worst. Yes, the food was a little expensive but okay. We ate all of our dinners out. I highly recommend LA ESTACION and METROPOL. The Funicular to the lower hotels and marina was always working and never an issue. We rented a Enterprise car and parked it in the customer lot at the hotel for free. It can fill up on the weekends. Drive carefully on the island. We toured and recommend El Yunque and Old San Juan. Plaza Las Americas Mall was nice and very packed during the week. We did a lot of exploring but it takes time to get places.

LET ME TELL YOU I TRAVEL 5-6 TIMES A YEAR ALL OVER THE WORLD AND I LOVE THE WALDORF COLLECTION HOTELS BUT THIS PLACE WAS THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER STAYED. FIRST- AS SOON AS YOU ARRIVE THEY CHARGE YOU */NIGHT IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR STAY AS A DEPOSIT. SECOND- YOU GET TO YOUR ROOM MINE WAS 3320 AND THEY HAVE A GREAT BEAUTIFUL ROOM THEY HAVE BOTTLED WATER IN THE ROOM WHICH THEY CHARGE TO YOUR ROOM AT */BOTTLE AND THEY DONT TELL YOU ABOUT IT. THIRD- THEY GIVE YOU FREE BREAKFAST WHICH THEY AUTOMATICALLY CHARGE YOUR ROOM * GRATUITY AND THE BREAKFAST IS *. EVEN IF YOU DONT GET BREAKFAST THEY CHARGE YOU FOR EVERYTHING. I ONLY ATE THREE TIMES IN FOUR DAYS AT THE HOTEL AND MY CHARGES WERE *!!!!!!!!!!! THEY DONT TELL YOU ALL THE HIDDEN FEES AND I STILL DONT KNOW WHAT ALL THEY CHARGED ME FOR.

We loved the hotel, beautiful modern rooms, great site great Island(Puerto Rico that is). We ate at a locale restaurant that overlooked a harbor that was outstanding. My one beef is it is the only hotel in the world where employees park closer than guest that pay $* per day for the privilage. Our parking lot was gravel and the employees was a nice asphalt. It was a pain paying each time ( took 10 min) and should of been included in our 14% resort fee. The managment team has their priorities off base.
